Douglas Jeffers
Douglas Jeffers debated for four years at Dulles High School in Houston. During his career he qualified to the TFA
state tournament four times, the NFL National Tournament 3 times, and the Tournament
of Champions twice. In the course of his career he had much success, including
winning first speaker at TFA state and Greenhill, advancing to the semifinals
at TFA state and the Tournament of Champions, finishing second at the NCFL
Grand National Tournament, and first at
the NFL National Tournament. Since graduating in 2006 he has had experience as
an instructor at the Victory Briefs Institute, and as an assistant coach at the
Bronx High School of Science. Currently he studies history at Texas A&M University. He enjoys teaching debate because he thinks
it gives students an opportunity to become confident when expressing
themselves, and to develop important research, as well as critical reading,
writing, and thinking skills. He looks forward to his opportunity to work with
students at the Foundations Debate Camp this summer.
